Help talk:Making a signature

I am a new user and I have no idea about Wikipedia rules. I am trying to share my society information for a long time but every time my article is getting deleted. Please forgive my mistake and publish my article. I am not doing any kind of wrong thing if you do not publish my article then I will be very sad and And I'll never be able to trust Wikipedia RAJWADE SAMAJ (talk) 12:22, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Some comments

First of all, like most of other guidelines, it is better to be written in Simple English, or at least simpler language than its current state.

In the lead paragraph, it should be said that a user always has a signature (the default one) which is shown when ~~~~ is used, and that the guideline is to help people create signatures which look different.

It might be a good idea to express that using subpages is only one way to create customized signatures. Personally, I prefer singatures to be stored as "raw signatures" in the user preferences.

I suggest we create some pages that could be linked from here. For example, a page about hex numbers, a page about HTML colors, etc.

I highly suggest avoiding use of font tag. Span tags should be used instead, as font tags are depricated per new HTML standards. Also, I suggest all the coloring to happen as CSS attirbutes (style="color:#abcdef"). Why not to advocate the standards?

I was thinking about the "user sub page/raw" argument just a moment ago and looked around for a guideline. As there wasn't one, I took a look at WP:RULES and that suggested using the EN rules in a situation where no rule or guideline exists. And that states:

Transclusions of templates and parser functions in signatures (like those which appear as User:Name/sig, for example) are forbidden. There are several reasons for this.

• Signature templates are vandalism targets, and will be forever, even if the user leaves the project.
• Certain automated scripts (bots) are used to automatically archive particularly active talk pages. These bots read the source of the talk page, but don't transclude templates, and so don't recognize the template as a signature.
• Signature templates are a small but unnecessary drain on the servers. Transcluded signatures require extra processing--whenever you change your signature source, all talk pages you have posted on must be re-cached.

Simple text signatures, which are stored along with the page content and use no more resources than the comments themselves, avoid these problems.

2. . That isn't the case here, as we don't have any bots that archive user talk pages.

All right. Since I have no CSS knowledge, I would appreciate it if someone would update the article to include this. As to the opening, I'll fix that. I would also like someone to fix the font into span for me, as I have little knowledge of that. Razorflame 18:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Acutally, I think we should forbid using user subpages with the same merit. User subpages can still be used to test a signature and see if it works fine. However, the final signature should be stored as RAW. - Huji ^reply 22:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Once again, your stupid wikipeidia artical didn't work. "User:Example/subpageone" takes you to your own page. I typed in User:myusername/subpageone And I got to my profile. Thanks for the help! Not
