Highland Papua

Highland Papua (Indonesian: Papua Pegunungan) is a province of Indonesia. It has an area of 51,213.34 square kilometres (19,773.58 sq mi). In 2022, 1,430,459 people lived there.[1] The province was created on 11 November 2022 as a split from Papua. It is on the central highlands of Western New Guinea, where it is the only landlocked province in Indonesia. The capital is in Jayawijaya Regency.
