History

It was founded by the supermarket chain Sainsbury's and Belgian retailer GB-Inno-BM in 1979, as Sainsbury's Homebase.

In December 2000, Sainsbury's sold the Homebase chain.

In November 2002, Homebase was sold again, to GUS plc, It became Argos Retail Group (later renamed as Home Retail Group).[3]

In February 2016, Australian retailer Wesfarmers bought Homebase.[4][5]
