Ilkka Kanerva

Finnish politician

Ilkka Armas Mikael Kanerva (28 January 1948 – 14 April 2022) was a Finnish politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1975 until 2022. He was born in Lokalahti, now a part of Uusikaupunki, Finland. Kanerva was Deputy Prime Minister of Finland for a few months in 1991.

Kanerva was the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2007 to 2008.[1] Kanerva was a member of the National Coalition Party. Kanerva was the Minister of Labour from 1975 until 2022.

Kanerva died after a short-illness in Turku, Finland on 14 April 2022 at the age of 74.[2]
