International Commission of Jurists


International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) is a non-governmental organization created at Berlin in 1951 by specialists of law, lawyers or judges for the protection of human rights and rule of law.

Right now, the headquarters are situated in Geneva and has relationships with United Nations, Council of Europe and African Union. This Commission has also played an important role in the creation of the International Criminal Court and the Yogyakarta Principles.

From 2008 to 2010, Mary Robinson was the president of this Commission.
