French battalion established in 1803 for a future invasion of Ireland

The Irish Legion (French: Légion irlandaise) was a regiment in the French Imperial Army created in 1803 for a planned invasion of Ireland. It was dissolved in 1815 when all foreign regiments were dissolved.
