Jade Cargill (born June 3, 1992) is an American professional wrestler. She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand and is one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, along with Bianca Belair. She is also known for her time in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) from 2020 to 2023, where she was the first ever TBS Champion. Her single reign of 508 days is the longest for any championship in AEW. Cargill's cousin Peter Cargill played for the Jamaica national football team in the 1980s and 1990s.[2]

Career change

All Elite Wrestling (2020–2023) change

Cargill made her professional wrestling debut for AEW on the November 11, 2020, episode of Dynamite. She interruptied Cody Rhodes, and teased the arrival of Shaquille O'Neal in AEW.[6] The next day, Tony Khan announced that Cargill had signed a multi-year contract with AEW.[7] Her first match was a tag team match on the March 3, 2021, episode of Dynamite, where she and O'Neal defeated Rhodes and Red Velvet.[5] In October, Cargill competed in a tournament to crown the first ever TBS Champion. She got a first round bye and defeated Red Velvet in the quarterfinals on November 24 Thunder Rosa in the semifinals on December 29.[8][9][10] On January 5, 2022, she defeated Ruby Soho in the finals to become TBS Champion.[11]

In mid-April, she formed her own stable called the Baddies, which consisted of her, Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet.[12] On May 29 at Double or Nothing, Stokely Hathaway became her new manager[13] and in late June, Leila Grey became part of the stable.[14] On January 13, 2023 she became the longest-reigning champion in AEW history at 373 days.[15] At Double or Nothing on May 28, she beat Taya Valkyrie, before she lost the title in an open challenge to the returning Kris Statlander in less than fifty seconds. This was her first loss ever and ended her reign at 508 days.[16] On the September 15 episode of Rampage (taped September 13), Cargill lost to Statlander in a title rematch.[17] This was Cargill's last match in AEW, as her contract expired.[18][19]

WWE (2023–present) change

Later that month, WWE announced that Cargill signed a multi-year contract and began training at the Performance Center,[20] After appearing at the Fastlane pre-show on October 7, followed by regular appearances on Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, she made her in-ring debut for WWE on January 27, 2024 at the Royal Rumble. She entered the women's Royal Rumble match at number 28 and eliminated Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Naomi, before she was eliminated by the number 30 entrant, Liv Morgan.[21] Cargill was then assigned to the SmackDown brand.[22] At WrestleMania XL Night One on April 6, 2024, Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Belair defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka, and Kairi Sane) in a six-woman tag team match. Cargill pinned Kai to win the match.[23] At Backlash France on May 4, Cargill won her first championship in WWE, when she and Belair defeated the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) for the Women's Tag Team Championship.[24]
