Jia Qinglin

Chinese politician

Jia Qinglin (Chinese: 贾庆林; born March 1940) is a retired Chinese politician who served as a 7th Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from 2003 to 2013.[1]

Jia is an engineer by trade and he began his political career in Fujian distric in 1985. He gain popularity during the Yuanhua scandal. In 1996, he became a mayor and then party chief of Beijing. Jia was later included in the Politburo in 1997.[2] He retired in 2013.[3]
