Ecuadorian journalist and politician

Jaime Antonio "Jimmy" Jairala Vallazza (born 26 September 1957) is an Ecuadorian politician. He is the leader of the Democratic Center Movement.[1] From 2009 to 2019, he was the Prefect of the Guayas Province. For a short time in 2007, he was a member of the National Congress. Jairala was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

In July 2024, Jairala announced his candidacy for the Democratic Center nomination for President of Ecuador in the upcoming 2025 general election.[2] He ended his campaign the next month.[3]
