John A. Murphy

John A. Murphy (17 January 1927 – 28 February 2022)^[1] was an Irish historian and politician. He was a senator twice from 1977 until 1982 and from 1987 until 1993. He was Emeritus Professor of history at University College Cork (UCC).^[2] Murphy was born in Macroom, County Cork, Ireland.

Murphy died on 28 February 2022 in Cork, Ireland at the age of 95.^[1]
