John Burke (politician)
American politician (1859–1937)
John Burke was an American Democratic Party politician who served as governor of North Dakota from 1907 to 1913. He was the first governor of that state to win the office of governor. During his tenure legislation was passed that authorized a plan to provide struggling farmers with seed grain. In addition, approval was given for a State Tuberculosis Sanitarium,[1] while various labor laws were introduced.[2][3]
