John Hugh Seiradakis
Greek astronomer
John Hugh Seiradakis (Greek: Ιωάννης-Χιου Σειραδάκης; 5 March 1948 – 3 May 2020) was a Greek astronomer and physicist. He was born in Chania, Greece. He was best known for his works in the understanding of radio pulsars, the galactic center and archaeoastronomy.
He was a founding member of the Hellenic Astronomical Society, the European Astronomical Society and the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA).
He worked at the University of Thessaloniki, Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy, University of Hamburg, University of California and at Victoria University of Manchester.
Seiradakis died on 3 May 2020 in his home in Thessaloniki, Greece of problems caused by cancer, aged 72.[1][2][3]
