John Minto

New Zealand political activist

John Minto (born in 1953) is a Retired Science Teacher at Hornby High School in Christchurch, New Zealand and Former activist During the Springbok Tour. In 1969 John Minto was the Chairman of H.A.R.T (Halt All Racist Tours) a Group to stop the South African Rugby Team Tours of New Zealand. Even police batons were named after Minto, called "Minto Bars". In 2016 John Minto ran for Mayor of Christchurch. Minto had received 13,117 votes, and lost the election.
