John S. Foster Jr.

American physicist

John Stuart Foster Jr. (born September 18, 1922) is an American physicist and politician. He is best known as the fourth director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He also was Director of the Defense Research and Engineering. He worked during the Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon presidencies.[1] Foster was born in New Haven, Connecticut.
