John Swainson

Recipient of the Purple Heart medal (1925-1994)

John Burley Swainson (July 31, 1925 – May 13, 1994) was a Canadian-American politician and lawyer. He was the 42nd Governor of Michigan from 1961 until 1963.[1][2] He was Lieutenant Governor from 1959 until 1961. He was a Democrat.
