Josef Schediwy

Austrian association football player

Josef Schediwy ( 7 December 1882 - 14 September 1915 in Tashkent) [1]was an Austrian football player. He played for SK Rapid Wien and the Austrian national football team.

Career

With Rapid he won the first Austrian championship in 1911/12. Schediwy was one of the older players at this time and was rarely used. He still contributed three goals in three games in this season to help Rapid win their first championship title. Schediwy was able to defend the title with the team and played two games in the championship. In the 1913/14 season he played his matches for the Rapid and reached second place.

International

He played his first match for the Austrian national football team on 11 October 1903 versus Hungary.[2] His last match was on 1 June 1909 versus England.[3]

On 14 September 1915, Josef Schediwy died as a Russian prisoner of war in Tashkent.
