division of the Quran into 30 parts of varying lengths, but more uniform than that into surahs; used to facilitate recitation during Ramadan
juzʼ (Arabic: جُزْءْ, plural: أَجْزَاءْ ajzāʼ, literally meaning "part") is called each of the thirty volumes of the Qur'an. These thirty pieces are known as thirty paras. In Arabic it is called Juz. The word para is common among Muslims in South Asia. The meaning does not differ from these parts of the Qur'an. Each para consists of an equal number of parts. Basically, these paras have been formed for the convenience of recitation.
