K. G. Hammar

Church of Sweden bishop

Karl Gustav Hilding Hammar, born 18 February 1943 in Hässleholm), Sweden, commonly referred to as K. G. Hammar, is a Swedish Lutheran clergyman. He was the Archbishop of Uppsala, head of the Church of Sweden, from 1997 to 2006.[1] During his tenure as archbishop, the Church of Sweden and the government separated on 21 January 2000.
