Kathleen Kane
American politician in Pennsylvania (born 1966)
Kathleen Margaret Kane (née Granahan)[1] is an American former politician and lawyer. She was the Attorney General of Pennsylvania from 2013 until her resignation in 2016. She was found guilty of perjury, obstruction of justice, and for illegal activities while she was attorney general.[2] She was the first woman and first Democrat ever elected to the position.[3][4][5]

On November 29, 2018, she reported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to begin serving her 10–to-23-month prison term after having exhausted her appeal efforts. On July 31, 2019, Kane was released from Montgomery County Prison.[6] On April 30, 2022, she was taken back into custody for violating her probation by drunk driving.[7]
