Ketogenesis
chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of ketone bodies
Ketogenesis is a process when fats and ketogenic amino acids are changed into ketones. It serves as a energy supplier in cases of ketosis.[1] Somes cells cannot metabolize ketones or metabolize it very well, so glucose is either released or made from the liver.[2]
