Kilobit

unit of digital information equal to one thousand bits

A kilobit is 1000 (kilo-), as in SI, bits.[1] A bit is either 0 (off) or 1 (on). The kilobit is usually written as kbit or kb.[1][2] Kibibit is similar, except it has 1024 (power of two) bits instead of 1000. They are sometimes confused.
