Knull (character)

Knull is one of the main antagonists of the Marvel Comics universe, specifically serving as one of the main antagonists of the Venom series.

Fictional character biography

He is an ancient malevolent cosmic deity who was responsible for the creation of All-Black, the first and original Symbiote, and eventually the Symbiote race. Knull sought to expand the darkness all across the universe by conquering, destroying and corrupting every life form he comes across. He is one of the arch-enemies of Eddie Brock/Venom.

Powers and abilities

Knull possesses superhuman strength and durability. He is depicted as an immortal being. He is able to generate and manipulate eldritch darkness, as he can manifest darkness to create weapons and living creatures, whom he calls the "Living abyss."

In other media

The character was also loosely adapted as the Dark Shadow Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Thor: Love and Thunder, portrayed by an uncredited extra. In the animated series Spider-Man, Knull is voiced by Ben Pronsky. He is set to appear in the upcoming 2024 Sony's Spider-Man Universe movie Venom: The Last Dance.
