History change

The Silhouette was first revealed at the 1976 Geneva Auto Show. It was designed by Bertone. The earlier Urraco was the basis for the car, but it had different styling. The Silhouette was the first Lamborghini to have a targa top roof. Lamborghini’s next sports car, the Jalpa, was based off the Silhouette.[1]

Lamborghini made 54 Silhouettes. They stopped making them in 1979. Thirty-one of them are known to still exist.[1]

Engine and transmission change

The Silhouette was powered by a 2,995.8 cubic centimetres (182.81 cubic inches) Lamborghini V8 engine. It was very similar to the one in the Urraco P300.[2] The engine was in the middle of the car. The engine was paired to a five-speed manual transmission.[1]

Performance change

The Silhouette’s engine made 268.9 metric horsepower (198 kilowatts; 265 brake horsepower). This helped the car be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0.0 to 96.6 kilometres per hour) in 6.5 seconds. It could also go from 0 to 100 mph (0 to 161 km/h) in 16.1 seconds. It could get to a top speed of 260 kilometres per hour (162 miles per hour).[1][2]
