Concept car
changeThe Lamborghini Urus concept was revealed to the public at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show on April 23, 2012.[3] It was later shown at Pebble Beach in 2012. The concept was powered by a 5.2 L V10 engine that was shared with the Gallardo. The engine had a theoretical power output of 600 PS (592 hp; 441 kW). The power was put through an all-wheel drive power system.
The production version of the Urus was revealed in 2017. However, it looked different than the concept. It was also powered by a twin-turbo V8 instead of a V10.[4]
Powertrain
changeThe Lamborghini Urus does not use Lamborghini’s V10 or V12 engines. Instead, the Urus is powered by a 650 PS (641 hp; 478 kW) 4.0 L twin-turbo V8, which is a modified version of Audi's 4.0 L V8.[5][6] The engine is built at a Volkswagen plant in Hungary. It is then shipped to Lamborghini's assembly plant.
Performance
changeThe Urus’s engine has a maximum power output of 478 kW (641 hp; 650 PS) at 6,000 rpm. The Urus has a front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout, and a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph) making it one of the world's fastest production SUVs. The Urus can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.8 seconds.
The Urus, like all modern Lamborghinis, has several different driving modes. Each mode has a specific purpose. The modes are: Strada (street), Sport, Corsa (track), Terra (dirt), Sabbia (sand), and Neve (snow). The Urus has a seating capacity of either four or five people.[7]
