Lennox Napier

British Army officer.; (1928-2020)

Major-General Lennox Alexander Hawkins Napier CB OBE MC DL (28 June 1928 – 21 July 2020) was a British Army officer.

Napier was commissioned into the South Wales Borderers in 1946.[1] He was honored with the Military Cross in December 1957 during the Malayan Emergency.[2] He became commanding officer of the 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers in 1967 and commanding officer of the 1st Battalion Royal Regiment of Wales in 1969.

He was commander of the Berlin Infantry Brigade in 1974, Divisional Brigadier for the Prince of Wales' Division in 1976 and General Officer Commanding Wales in 1980 before retiring in 1983.[3]

He died on 21 July 2020 at the age of 92.[4]
