Leonidas Iza

Ecuadorian activist and indigenous leader

Segundo Leonidas Iza Salazar (born 18 June 1982) is an Ecuadorian activist and indigenous leader of Kichwa-Panzaleo ancestry. In 2021, he was elected President of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE).[1] Before this, he was a well known leader of the October 2019 national protests against the government of Lenín Moreno.[2] He is running for President of Ecuador in the 2025 general election.[3]
