Liudmila Belavenets
Russian chess player (1940–2021)
Liudmila Sergeyevna Belavenets (also spelled Lyudmila Sergeevna Belavenets; Russian: Людмила Сергеевна Белавенец; 7 June 1940 – 7 November 2021) was a Russian chess player. She was the fourth women's world champion (1984–1992)[1] and was won the titles of Lady Grandmaster and International Master in 1991.[2] She was born in Moscow.
Belavenets died on November 7, 2021, from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia, aged 81.[3]
