Lochem

Lochem is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. About 34,000 people were living there in 2021. It lies both in the Achterhoek and the IJsselvallei regions, and borders the Salland region in the north.

Lochem got city rights in 1233. The municipality of Gorssel joined Lochem in 2005.

Between Lochem and Barchem lie the forests of the Lochemse Berg and the Kale Berg. The Twentekanaal begins at the southwest municipal border with the city of Zutphen and is running to the east, dividing the municipality of Lochem in two. The city of Lochem lies on the southside.
