Lyudmila Verbitskaya

Lyudmila Verbitskaya (née, Людмила Алексеевна Бубнова; October 17, 1936 – November 24, 2019) was a Russian linguist and teacher. She was president of Saint Petersburg State University. She was born in Leningrad.[1]
Verbitskaya was rector (1994-2008), and then president (2008-2019) of Saint Petersburg State University.[2] She also was the chair of the Russian Academy of Education from 2013 through 2018.
Verbitskaya died in St. Petersburg on November 24, 2019 at the age of 83.[3]
