Mahdavia

Mahdiist Muslim sect founded by Syed Muhammad Jaunpuri in India in the late 15th century when he declared himself to be Imam Mahdi at the holy city of Mecca, in front of the Kaaba in 1496

Mahdavia (Arabic: مهدوي mahdawi) is a Mahdi'ist movement founded in the 15th century which follows the principles set forth by Syed Jaunpuri. A subsect of Mahdavia, called Zikri, is mostly practised in Pakistan.[1]
