Maimun Zubair

Sheikh Kyai Hajji Maimun Zubair (Jawi: ‎ميمون زبير‎‎‎‎‎‎‎; October 28, 1928 – August 6, 2019) was an Indonesian cleric. He was the murshid of Idrisiyya Shadhili in Sarang, Rembang Regency, Central Java. In 1967, Maimun created the Pondok Pesantren Al-Anwar in his home village, Karangmangu.

Zubair was a member of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Rembang Regency from 1971 to 1978. He became a member of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) from the Central Java envoy in 1987 and served until 1999.

Zubair was born in Rembang Regency, Central Java. He died on August 6, 2019 in Mecca, Saudi Arabia while performing a religious ceremony, aged 90.[1]
