Melanie Joy
American psychologist
Melanie Joy (born September 2, 1966) is an American social psychologist and author. She is known for creating the term carnism, which is the study and research about human relationships with animals and pets.[1] She is the founding president of nonprofit advocacy group Beyond Carnism.[2] She was a professor of psychology and sociology at the University of Massachusetts Boston.[3]
