Melanocetus murrayi, also called the Murray's abyssal anglerfish, is an anglerfish in the family Melanocetidae. It can live 2000 m (6,600 ft) deep.

Females can reach 13.5 cm (5 in). For males, however, they're shorter, only reaching 2.8 cm (1.1 in) long. Just like all anglerfish, the females have a bioluminescent organ called an esca.
