Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs
The Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs is the ministry of defense of the Kurdistan Region which is responsible for protecting the borders and territory of Kurdistan . The current minister of the ministry is Shorsh Ismail . [1]

The Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs alone supervises 84,000 people (28.3&) of the Kurdistan Region's armed Peshmerga forces, most of whom take orders from political parties. 132,000 Peshmergas (44.4&) are under the control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and 81,000 Peshmergas (27.3%) are under the control of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan .
