Mohammad Abdul Hamid

president of Bangladesh in 2013-2023

Mohammed Abdul Hamid (born 1 January 1944) was the 16th President of Bangladesh from 2013 to 2023. He was the Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh from 2009 through 2013.[1]

Hamid was born in Mithamoin in the Kishoreganj District.

He started his political career while a student in Kishoreganj. He was the vice president of Gurudayal Government College. He later became a lawyer in the Kishoreganj Judge Court. He was president of Kishoreganj Bar Association several times. He has been elected 7 times as a member of Parliament from 1970 to 2009.[1]

On 25 January 2009, he became the Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh. Currently he is the 20th President of Bangladesh.[2]
