Montek Singh Ahluwalia

Indian economist and civil servant

Montek Singh Ahluwalia (born 24 November 1943) is an Indian economist and civil servant. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of the Republic of India. The position has the rank of a Cabinet Minister. He resigned from the post in 2014. This was before the end of the UPA II regime in the center.[1] Before this, he was the first Director of the Independent Evaluation Office at the International Monetary Fund.[2]
