Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is a major municipal body in Delhi, India, responsible for providing civic services to a significant portion of the city's population. As one of the largest municipal corporations globally, it serves approximately 20 million residents in an area spanning 1,397.3 square kilometers.[1][2]

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) started on 7 April 1958 after an Act of Parliament was passed. Before this, the main civic body in Delhi was called the Delhi Municipal Committee (DMC).[3][4]
