Myristicaceae

family of plants

Myristicaceae is the botanical name for a family of flowering plants, mostly from Africa, Asia, Pacific islands, and the Americas.[1] The family has been recognised by most taxonomists, and it is sometimes called the "nutmeg family", after its most famous member, the nutmeg (Myristica fragrans). It has about 21 genera and 520 species.[2] They are mostly trees and shrubs.
