Network function virtualization

network architecture that virtualizes entire classes of network node functions into building blocks that may chain together to create communication services

Network Functions Virtualization (NFV)[1] [2] is a computer communication technology that proposes to substitute specialized network hardware with software running on regular computers or cloud.

It aims to reduce costs and complexity in communication networks, while facilitating faster creation of new communication services.
