Ningali Lawford

Australian actress

Ningali Josie Lawford[1] (1967 – 11 August 2019) was an Australian actress. She was known for her roles in the movies Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002), Bran Nue Dae (2009), and Last Cab to Darwin (2015). In 2016, she was nominated for the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.[2][3] Lawford was born in Wangkatjungka, Western Australia.

Lawford died while on tour in Edinburgh, Scotland on 11 August 2019 when she suffered an asthma attack.[4] She was 52.[5]
