Norman Lamm

American rabbi

Norman Lamm (December 19, 1927 – May 31, 2020) was an American Modern Orthodox rabbi, scholar, author and Jewish communal leader. He was the Chancellor of Yeshiva University until his retirement on July 1, 2013. He was born in New York City.

In 1958 Lamm helped found Tradition, an academic journal of Modern Orthodox thought. He also launched the Torah U-Madda Journal.

Lamm died on May 31, 2020 in Englewood, New Jersey at the age of 92.[1]
