Olympia Dukakis
American actress (1931-2021)
Olympia Dukakis (June 20, 1931 – May 1, 2021)[1] was an American actress. She acted in movies and television and on stage. In 1987, she received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award for her performance in the movie Moonstruck. She also received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Anna Madrigal in the miniseries Tales of the City.[2]
Dukakis was the daughter of Greek immigrants. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on June 20, 1931.[3] She was a cousin of 1988 presidential candidate Michael Dukakis.[4] From 1962 until his death in 2018, she was married to actor Louis Zorich.
Death
