Operation Big Buzz

In the American state of Georgia in May 1955, there was an operation called Big Buzz. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which carry the yellow fever virus, were not infected for the purpose of the operation, which served as a field test to see if it was feasible to produce, store, load into munitions, and disperse from aircraft the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
