Péter Magyar
Hungarian lawyer, diplomat, political activist
Péter Magyar (Hungarian: [ˈpeːtɛr ˈmɒɟɒr]; born 16 March 1981) is a Hungarian politician and lawyer. He is the President of the Respect and Freedom (Tisza) Party, Hungary's largest opposition party, since 2024. He has been a member of the European Parliament since July 2024. He has been a critic of Viktor Orbán and was a member of his Fidesz party until 2024.[1]

His great-uncle Ferenc Mádl was President of Hungary from 2000 to 2005.[2][3][4][5]
From 2006 until their divorce in 2023, Magyar was married to politician Judit Varga.[6] They had three children.
