The show followed Pac-Man, his wife Ms. Pac-Man, their cousin Super Pac-Man, their children Pac-Baby and P.J., their Pac-Dog Chomp-Chomp and their Pac-Cat Sour Puss. They lived in Pacopolis in Pac-Land on Earth-Pac-World of the Pac-Universe, which was a digital universe made mostly of spheres and spheroids. Almost all of its episodes were mainly about the Pac family and their battles with their enemies, the Ghost Gang, who were composed of Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde, Sue, Dinky and Ghost-Hound, the Vam-Pac-Man Count Pacula, the Microchip Monster, the Power Supply Monster Kill-O-Watt, the Chess Program Pieces and the Ghost-Lord-Orb Mezmaron, who was their uncle and ruler. Their goal was to capture the Pac family and control the Power Pellets of the Power Pellet Forest to enslave Pac-Land into Ghost-Land. Power Pellets were energy wafer beans that were the power source for Pac-World.
Two special episodes aired. The first one was the Pac-Man Halloween Special, which was two Halloween episodes of the show. It aired in primetime on October 30, 1982. The second was Christmas Comes to Pac-Land, which was a Christmas special where Pac-Man and his family had to help Santa Claus after he crash-landed in Pac-Land.
