Paulo Nogueira Neto
Brazilian biologist and environmentalist
Paulo Nogueira Neto (18 April 1922 – 25 February 2019) was a Brazilian environmentalist and politician. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Neto was Secretary of the Environment from 1974 to 1986. He helped create a total of 3,000,000 hectares (7,400,000 acres) of ecological stations and ecological reserves in Brazil. As well as 1,500,000 hectares (3,700,000 acres) of environmental protection areas.
Neto died on 25 February 2019 in São Paulo from pneumonia, aged 96.[1]
