Peter Carey (novelist)
Australian novelist
Peter Carey (born 1943) is an Australian novelist who has won many awards including two Booker Prizes.[1] He first won the Booker Prize in 1988 for his book, Oscar and Lucinda. He won again in 2001 for his book The True History of the Kelly Gang.[2] Only one other author has won this award twice.[2]
Oscar and Lucinda was made into a movie starring Ralph Fiennes.[1] The True History of the Kelly Gang is the story of Australian bushranger, Ned Kelly, written in the style of Ned's famous Jerilderie Letter.
