Peter Steele

American musician (1962–2010)

Petrus Thomas Ratajczyk[4] (January 4, 1962 – April 14, 2010), known professionally as Peter Steele, was an American musician and singer-songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist, bassist and composer of the gothic metal band Type O Negative.[5] Steele also created the metal group Fallout and the thrash band Carnivore.[6]

Steele died at a hospital in Scranton, Pennsylvania on April 14, 2010 from sepsis caused by diverticulitis, aged 48.[7][8][9]
