Philémon Yang
Cameroonian politician, former Prime minister of Cameroon
Philémon Yang (born 1947) is a Cameroonian politician who has been the President of the United Nations General Assembly.[1] He was elected Prime Minister of Cameroon in 2009. He left the office in January 2019. His predecessor was Ephraïm Inoni.[2][3] Before he was Prime Minister, Yang was an ambassador to Canada.

In March 2024, Yang was designated as Africa's candidate for the presidency of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.[4] In June 2024, Yang was elected to serve as President of the United Nations General Assembly.[1]
