Phogat Jats

Sikh lineage prevalent in Punjab Domain

Phogat[1][2] variously referred as Fogeria Jats[3] is an predominant feudalistic Sikh Clan  and  exogamous gotra in the ancestry of Jakhar Jat Sikh,(Phogat progenitors) of Jind State[4] and still avoid intercaste practice among Sangwan and Deswal.[5][6] Apparently they  commonly  share the same lineage as the Shivgotri Jats, who trace their divine essence back to Lord Shiva.[7]
